Woodlot Christian Preschool

 

Dear Parents,

Woodlot Christian Preschool's is a Child Day Care Center licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. We provide a fun and engaging academic program. Our philosophy is that children learn best in an atmosphere of love and joy.

"Research in cognitive neuroscience has shown that emotions play a crucial role in encoding and retrieving memories. When students experience positive emotions like love and  joy, their brains release dopamine, which enhances attention, motivation, and memory retention." (Immordino-Yang & Damasio, 2007). It has been our aim at Woodlot Christian Preschool to create an environment where children learn through a creative immersive play and interactive experience. This includes using a multisensory approach to teaching where we prepare student for Kindergarten by providing a wide variety of fun, enriching activities to develop their skills in the areas of literacy, math, science, the arts and physical health.

In preparation for Kindergarten, the Pre-k classroom has a mixture of both learning centers and special activities for your child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. Each child is free to go through various learning center in the first part of their morning to explore activities the teacher puts out for their development. These age appropriate activities along with the teacher's guidance are meant to scaffold your child's for learning.

 

Our teachers are qualified instructors with Master's, Bachelor's and Associate Degrees as well as the nationally recognized Child Development Associates Credentials. Each teacher takes 15 hours of continuing training in Early Childhood Development each year including First Aid and CPR training. We look forward to meeting you and your child.
